The Yuletide season is here again!

As we celebrate this festive season we should celebrate the birth of the Christ who died to save mankind. Such unmatched demonstration of love should imbue each of us with a passion to spread love as we interact with our family, our friends, with strangers – with mankind.

Lets celebrate the reason for the season by spreading love.

...

May this Christmas end the present year on a cheerful note
and make way for a fresh and bright New Year.

Here’s wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Bahamas Union of Teachers is saddened by the recent destruction caused by Hurricane Joaquin. Our members are our number one priority and we will make every effort to assist in providing necessary support in returning their lives to a state of normalcy. To this end, the Executive Committee has partnered with the Ministry of Education to complete proper assessments, interviews and counseling if necessary, of members affected by the storm. Our intent is to identify specific needs caused by the storm and assist in having them satisfied. Persons wishing to assist will be notified how and when. Until then, the Union encourages all persons to continue to donate through their local charities.

Additionally,
The Judge determine that notwithstanding the objection of the Executive Committee, once the Appeals Committee rules against any disciplinary action, including the suspension of the President and Treasurer were free to carry out their roles in the Organization.

In essence once the suspension was overturned, there was no longer a suspension to be upheld.

The Executive Committee not only rejected the decision of the Appeals Committee but also appealed it to the Annual General Meeting.

Therefore, the Annual General Meeting will decide if the decision of the Appeals Committee shall stand, or be overturned.

There is no appeal from a decision made by the Annual General Meeting.

Regards,

(for) Mr. John Musgrove
Secretary General
